Kat Moore
2025-2026
Current Fred Madden Fellow
Kat Moore is a print-based artist working across analog and digital processes. She’s making on a new body of work exploring cycles of time, memory, and identity, and how printmaking, especially cyanotype and CMYK processes, mirrors those cycles in both method and meaning. Printmaking has always struck me as inherently cyclical.
There’s the physical rhythm of the process; inking a plate, wiping it down, pressing, repeating, but also the way print allows for variation within repetition. Ghost prints, layering, shifts in registration or color, they’re all visual echoes. Much like life, print is full of returns, revisions, and reimaginings. We revisit old questions, see familiar things in new light, and carry traces of the past forward with us.
The Fred Madden Fellowship, in memory of our long-term member Fred Madden, is designed to offer opportunities to artists seeking further experience and professional development in printmaking and book arts, and is available to artists with postgraduate degrees in printmaking or book arts locally, nationally or internationally. The Fellow is given the privileges of a Printmaker Associate, including unlimited access to the studio to produce their own work, a stipend, the possibility of teaching workshops, and editioning for others on a fee basis, and will have a solo show here at The Ink Shop for the month of June.
