Experience a technique in printmaking that uses a textural collage-like surface, but can have the range and nuance of intaglio. Using matboard as a base plate, textures such as fabric, sandpaper, string and various papers are glued to the matboard and coated with acrylic polymer. Painterly textures can be created with modeling paste. Any style of art, abstract or representational, is applicable to the collagraph. There is no acid biting or exotic tools. The collagraph plate is printed with etching ink in an etching press. No experience is necessary to explore this wonderful technique!
