Bio
Liz’s formal art training is from Manchester Community College, Manchester, CT, where she took many classes in drawing, painting, and some printmaking and carving. Since moving to Ithaca, NY four years ago, printmaking has become her primary medium, through her active association with The Ink Shop. She has taken numerous printmaking classes at The Ink Shop and some classes at the Community School of Music and Art. Her work has been shown in many of The Ink Shop exhibits as well as other central New York venues.
Statement
My art is inspired by my pleasure and connection with the natural world, my family, and my lifelong personal experience with mental illness. The Ink Shop and the talented artists with whom I work have nurtured my own talent and efforts, and my skills have expanded and my art become more sophisticated. I am enjoying exploring various print-making techniques and learning to use the techniques to best convey my visual ideas.
