In this five-week introductory course, students will explore ma king woodcut prints using color inks. We will go over tools, equipment, registration techniques and see some examples before beginning your own artwork. Then students will create several multi-layer prints in reductive woodcut and participate in a print exchange with their classmates. Wood, ink and paper will be provided, but each student will need to purchase their own set of carving tools in order to carve outside of class. Tool recommendations will be communicated upon registration. No prior experience needed.
